True life is lived when tiny changes occur.

— Leo Tolstoy

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Change that matters rarely announces itself. It happens at the size of a decision nobody notices: a habit shifted by ten minutes, a sentence said differently, one conversation had instead of avoided. Because these are small they get discounted, and the large transformations people wait for are usually just an accumulation of them becoming visible at once.

The practical version is to lower what you are willing to count. Ask what one degree of difference would look like this week, and do that rather than designing the overhaul. The overhaul, if it comes, will be made of exactly this material.
