Composure is strength refusing to perform fear publicly.

LEADERSHIP
Staying composed in front of others is not pretending you feel nothing. It is choosing not to broadcast the fear, partly because broadcasting it spreads it and partly because it makes the situation harder to work in. That restraint takes real strength, and it can coexist with being honest later about what the moment cost you.
In a difficult moment with others present, hold the visible calm and let yourself feel it properly afterwards. Tell someone you trust later. The point is to control the timing of the expression rather than to deny it.
Where do you broadcast your worry more than you need?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
