All happiness or unhappiness solely depends upon the quality of the object to which we are attached by love.

REFLECTION
What you attach yourself to decides most of how your life feels. Love something fragile, and you will spend your days afraid; love something that depends on other people’s opinion of you, and your mood becomes theirs to set. The difference is never in the loving but in what it is fastened to, and whether that thing can survive being loved. This is not about loving less, only about noticing what you have handed that power to.
Name the things your peace rests on. For each, ask how much is outside your hands. Where the answer is nearly all, look for something steadier to put weight on too.
Where have you pinned your happiness lately?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
