Doubt is the incentive to truth and inquiry leads the way.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Not knowing is uncomfortable, and that discomfort is useful. Certainty asks nothing of you; a question sends you looking. What you call doubt is often the first honest signal that your picture of something is incomplete, and the looking that follows is how the picture gets corrected.

Pick one thing this week you are fairly sure about and treat the doubt you have been swatting away as a lead. Ask what would have to be true for you to be wrong. Go find out rather than settle it in your head.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What would you have to look into to settle your doubt?
