Rehearse the boring parts until the important parts have somewhere stable to stand.

The unglamorous parts of any craft are the platform everything else rests on. If they are shaky, your best ideas have nowhere to land, and the ambitious work collapses for reasons that have nothing to do with ambition. Rehearsal of the dull layer is what makes the good layer possible.

Identify the tedious component you have been skipping, and give it consistent, unexciting attention for a couple of weeks. Do not expect it to feel meaningful while you do it. Judge it instead by what it lets you attempt afterward.
