Familiar acts are beautiful through love.

— Percy Bysshe Shelley

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The same small acts repeated for years can look like nothing from outside: the tea made the way someone likes it, the door held, the message sent at the same hour. What makes them beautiful is not novelty but the attention inside them. Love is mostly carried in repetition rather than in gestures, and repetition is easy to stop seeing. The ordinary is where most of it lives.

Pick one familiar act you perform for someone, or someone performs for you, and do it or receive it with full attention once this week. You do not need to say anything about it. Just let yourself notice it happening.
