I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.

LEADERSHIP
Most titles are given to you by other people and can be taken back the same way. Honesty is the one standing you assign yourself, day by day, in small moments nobody is watching. It is also the hardest to keep, because it costs something almost every time it comes due. Calling it enviable is a way of saying it outranks the things that look more impressive from outside.
Look for the next small place where telling the truth would be mildly inconvenient. Not the dramatic confession, just the ordinary correction you could easily let slide. Keep that one, and the larger ones get easier.
Which title would you rather deserve than be given?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
