I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

STILLNESS
Most lives are arranged by accident, by what other people expect and what was already there when you arrived. Living deliberately means stripping away enough of that to see what is actually essential, and then living by what you find. The fear underneath is not death itself but arriving at the end having never chosen anything.
You do not need woods for this. Take one area of your life that runs on inherited default and ask whether you would choose it again today. Keep what survives the question, and begin letting go of one thing that does not.
What would you strip away to live more deliberately?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
