GRATITUDE
People warm to what is human in you, not to what is impressive. A polished surface is admired from a distance and gives nobody anywhere to stand, while a visible flaw tells someone they are allowed to be imperfect near you. Affection usually needs that permission before it can start. Much of the loneliness people feel in company comes from performing a version of themselves that no one can reach.
Let one small unflattering truth out this week, the kind you would normally smooth over. Say you were wrong, or lost, or worried, and watch the other person move closer.
Do you hide your flaws from the people closest to you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
