A person afraid to choose eventually receives whatever outcome inaction selected.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Avoidance does not exempt you from outcomes. The situation resolves regardless, shaped by drift and other people’s choices, and you inherit whatever it produces. The fear of choosing badly ends up delivering an outcome nobody chose at all.

When fear is what is holding you, name the specific bad result you are trying to avoid, and then ask what inaction is likely to produce. Often the drifting outcome is worse than the one you were afraid of. That comparison is usually enough to get you moving.
