Once you label me you negate me.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

A label is a finished answer about someone who is not finished. The moment you have a word for a person, you stop watching them; the word does the looking for you, and everything that does not fit it becomes noise. It happens fastest with the people you know best, because you have had the longest to settle on a description. The same thing can be done to you, and it can be done by you to yourself.

Take one person you have already summed up and go a week without using your word for them. Watch for the thing they do that your description cannot hold.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which label have you accepted that leaves most of you out?
