The boisterous sea of liberty is never without a wave.

STILLNESS

STILLNESS
Freedom does not arrive as calm. A place where people can speak and choose will always have argument in it, and some of that argument will be loud, unfair and badly timed. Stillness would mean something had been suppressed. The disturbance you keep waiting to pass is not a sign the arrangement is failing; it is what the arrangement sounds like from inside.
Notice where you treat disagreement as evidence something has gone wrong, at work or at home. Try holding one open dispute a week longer than is comfortable before you move to settle it.
Where do you expect freedom to feel calmer than it does?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
