The people to fear are not those who disagree with you, but those who disagree with you and are too cowardly to let you know.

Open disagreement is useful. It tells you where you stand, gives you something to answer, and often improves what you were doing. The harder problem is the person who nods, keeps the objection, and acts on it somewhere you cannot see. You cannot correct an argument that was never made to you.
Make it cheap for people to contradict you, which mostly means how you react the first time someone does. Ask directly what the weakest part of your plan is, then sit with the answer without defending. If a room agrees with you too quickly, assume you have not heard from it yet.
Who around you disagrees with you but never says so?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
