REFLECTION
Nothing reaches you raw. By the time an event becomes something you can think about, it has been selected, framed and given a cause, usually before you noticed. Two honest people can watch the same hour and carry away different accounts of it, and neither is lying. That does not make everything equally true, but it does mean your version is a version.
When you next find yourself certain about what someone meant, try saying it as a reading rather than a report. Ask what else would fit what you actually saw. Often a second reading is available and kinder, and it costs nothing to hold both for a while.
Which of your certainties is really just one reading of events?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
