We are wiser than we know.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Much of what you understand never made it into words, so it does not feel like knowledge. It shows up instead as unease before a bad decision, or as knowing how to handle a person you could not describe on paper. The gap is not between you and wisdom. It is between what you have absorbed and what you can say out loud.

When you feel a pull you cannot justify, try writing down the plainest version of it before you argue yourself out. Half the time the reasons arrive a day later, and they are good ones.
