Slow readers still reach the last page. Speed was never the assignment.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Speed got attached to intelligence somewhere along the way, and it does not belong there. Finishing a book means you read the book, regardless of how many weeks it took. What matters is whether you understood it and whether you kept going, and neither of those has a clock attached.

Decide what counts as done for you this week and ignore how long it takes to get there. Ten pages a night is a book a month. If something takes you longer, that is a fact about the pace, not about you.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where are you judging yourself on speed instead of finishing?
