The loss does not get to decide whether another attempt exists.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A loss is a result, and results do not have authority over your future actions. It is easy to let one outcome settle the question of whether you continue, but that decision belongs to you and is made separately, on your own terms and timing. The event happened; what follows it is not determined by it.

If something has ended badly, give yourself time before deciding anything about trying again. When you do decide, do it deliberately rather than letting the sting choose for you. Either answer can be right, as long as it is yours.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which attempt did you retire after a single bad ending?
