Wanting more gets confused with ingratitude, usually by people who think appreciation means stopping. The two run on separate tracks: one is about how you hold what already exists, the other about where you are heading. Forcing a choice between them tends to produce either guilt about ambition or contempt for your own life. Both of those are avoidable.
Name one thing you would genuinely miss if it vanished tomorrow, and one thing you are still working toward. Hold both in the same week without argument. Neither has to be justified to the other.
Can you want more without resenting what you already have?
