A bad result does not require a bad identity.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Results are events in the world, and identity is a story you tell about yourself. Letting one become the other is a habit rather than a logical step, and it makes every failure far more expensive than it needed to be. You can hold a bad outcome without accepting a bad conclusion about who you are.
When you catch yourself moving from what happened to what you are, stop at the boundary. Describe the event and stop there. The correction goes to the behaviour, not to your sense of yourself.
What outcome have you turned into a verdict about who you are?
