Not every debate needs a winner. Some just need a handshake and a new topic.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some disagreements are not solvable and do not need to be. Two people can hold different reads on a film, a call, a person, and continuing past a certain point stops being about the question and starts being about not conceding. The argument outlives the topic, and what gets damaged is unrelated to whatever you were discussing.

Learn the exit line. Something like we are not going to agree on this, said without a parting shot attached. Then change the subject properly, which is the part people forget.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Could you end an argument today without needing to win?
