The bravest person in the room is often the quiet one who did the right thing without telling anyone.

Courage with an audience gets counted. The other kind, where somebody does the right thing and then never mentions it, leaves no record, and that is precisely why it is worth more, since nothing was collected in return. Rooms are full of people who intervened, covered, stayed late or told the truth, and you have no way of knowing.

Do one this week that nobody finds out about. Separately, watch for somebody else’s. If you spot it, tell them privately that you noticed, because that is the only payment this kind ever gets.
