Fear is a tour guide who only knows the scary streets. Ask for a different route.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Fear is a narrow guide. It has one job, listing what could hurt, and it hands over that list as though it were the whole map of the situation. Nothing on it has to be false for the picture to still be badly incomplete, because everything that might go fine is simply missing.

When the frightening version has your attention, ask for the other route on purpose. What does this look like if it goes well, and what is the likely outcome rather than the worst one. If the fear is loud most days, that is worth telling someone you trust.
