Jumping on every hype train isn’t brave. It’s just following fast.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Following the crowd quickly is still following. Getting into something because it is suddenly everywhere means your timing comes from other people’s excitement rather than from anything you understand, and by the time it feels obvious it is usually late. Speed can look a lot like nerve from outside.

Before joining anything surging, ask what you would say about it if nobody else were doing it. If you cannot explain why it works in your own words, stay out, or put in an amount you can lose without noticing. Real nerve tends to look early and lonely rather than fast and crowded.
