Your drafts folder is full of good work that never got to meet anybody.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Work that exists only on your own hard drive has not finished happening. It cannot be argued with, built on, or found by the one person who needed it, and it quietly convinces you that you are unproductive when really you are just private. Holding things back often starts as a standards question and turns into a habit. The standard keeps rising because nothing ever gets tested against a real reaction.

Open the folder and pick the piece you are least embarrassed by. Give it an hour of tidying, not a month, and release it somewhere small. Do the same next week, until publishing stops feeling like an event.
