Keep cutting corners and eventually you’re just running in circles.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
A shortcut moves work rather than removing it. The step you skipped comes back later as something that needs redoing, usually at a worse moment with more people waiting, and after enough of those you spend all your time on repairs and none of it going forward. Speed that produces rework is not actually speed.
When you are tempted to skip something, ask what happens if it is wrong and who finds out. If the answer is you, next week, twice over, do it now. Fast means doing it once.
Which corner have you cut so often it feels normal?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
