Writing down reps you didn’t do is the strangest lie. The only person reading the log is you.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A private log has no audience, which makes padding it genuinely strange. There is nobody to fool, so the false number does only one thing, which is destroy the honest measurement you had. You end up with a record that flatters you and tells you nothing, then wonder why the plan stopped producing anything. Accurate and unimpressive beats impressive and invented.

Write what actually happened, including the days that were thin or empty. A log with holes in it is still useful. A log you cannot trust is just decoration on a shelf.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where do you fudge numbers nobody else will read?
