“I’m not a morning person” is a label you picked up somewhere. Labels can be put back.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Most descriptions you carry about yourself were adopted rather than chosen. Somebody said it, it fit a few times, and then it stopped being an observation and became a rule you plan your life around. Sleep genuinely does differ from person to person, but plenty of what gets called a fixed trait is a habit with a name attached, and names are easier to change than traits.

Try the thing the label forbids for one week before deciding. If it turns out to be true for you, plan around it deliberately rather than by default.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which label about yourself did you never actually test?
