Nobody’s first draft is good. The good writers are just the ones who open it again.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The gap between people who make things and people who do not is mostly rewriting. A first attempt is supposed to be bad, because its only job is to exist so there is something to improve, and judging it as though it were finished is how most projects die on day two. The skill lives in the second and third passes.

Write the worst version of whatever you owe, quickly, without stopping to fix anything. Close it. Open it tomorrow and change one thing at a time until it starts sounding like you.
