Let the work breathe outside your control.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Once released, work develops a life you do not manage: it gets used oddly, quoted partially, loved for reasons you did not intend. Trying to control that is exhausting and largely futile, and it keeps you tethered to something you have already finished. Letting go is part of completion.

After you release something, set a limit on how much you will monitor and respond. Turn your attention to the next thing. The work can look after itself better than you expect.
