Hitting snooze is the first promise you break every day. Start keeping that one.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The alarm was set by somebody who thought carefully about the morning, and nine minutes later somebody barely conscious overrules them. It is a small thing, and it teaches you before you are even upright that your own decisions can be ignored. That lesson tends to follow you into the rest of the day without asking.

Set the alarm for when you genuinely need to be up, then get up at it. If mornings are genuinely hard for you, move bedtime earlier before blaming the alarm. One kept promise makes the next one easier.
