Masks get heavy. God never asked you to wear one around Him.

Keeping a version of yourself running costs energy every hour that you do not get back. Around people, you might decide it is worth it. Around God the whole performance is redundant, because the audience already has the footage and stayed anyway.

Try one prayer this week that is not tidied up first, with the ugly sentence left in. Say the doubt or the anger or the thing you would not say at youth group. Nothing about that will surprise Him, and you get to set the mask down.
