The Bible isn’t a mirror for your opinions. It’s a window for your soul.

It is easy to read Scripture looking for your own face. A mirror shows you what you already brought. A window shows you something that was there whether you approved of it or not, which is the point of reading it. Being disagreed with is a sign it is working.

Read a passage this week and write down the line you would rather skip. Sit with that one instead of the comfortable one next to it. Ask what it is asking of you before you decide what it means.
