The real leaders in any youth group are usually on cleanup crew.

Whoever is still there at the end, moving tables, is usually running the place in every sense that matters. Leadership gets imagined as the front and it mostly happens after everyone has gone home. The clean up crew is self selecting, because only the people who actually care stay for the part with no atmosphere.

Stay behind this week and do not make a thing of it. Pick up the chairs, take the bins out, be useful for twenty minutes. If you want to know who leads your youth group, look at who is still there at the end.
