Humility is remembering that your best idea was still a gift.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
The moment an idea starts feeling like yours, something odd happens to your grip on it. You defend it, need credit for it, begin measuring yourself by it. The raw material came from somewhere, the brain you did not build, the teacher who explained it, the book you happened to pick up, the timing. Receiving that without shrinking about it is closer to humility than pretending the idea was bad.
Next time you do something well, say thanks for it before you post about it. Name one person or one break that made it possible. Then keep working, because gratitude is not the same thing as false modesty.
Where did your best idea actually come from?
