Half of what you actually want to say never makes it into words. The sentences you started and deleted, the thing you almost said and could not, the feeling with no name yet. None of that is lost in transmission. You are already understood before you find the right way to put it.

Stop rehearsing prayer in your head before you say it. Try writing instead, badly, in your notes app, with no plan to make it sound like anything. If you get stuck halfway, leave it there, because the unfinished part has already been received.
