Your street at 6 a.m. is a completely different place. Worth meeting at least once.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A street you have walked a thousand times is mostly invisible to you, because your brain stopped rendering it years ago and now plays back the version it has stored. Take it at an hour you never see and the stored version does not match. Different light, different sounds, different people doing jobs that were finished before you usually wake up.

Set an alarm one morning and go outside before anything starts. Ten minutes on your own block is enough. Leave the headphones. The point is not the sunrise, it is finding out that a place you thought you knew had a whole shift you had never met.
