Going to bed tired from a good day is a kind of rich nobody can take from you.

There are two kinds of tired and your body knows the difference. One is the drained feeling of a day that used you up without giving anything back. The other comes from effort you chose, and it arrives with a strange satisfaction, as though something got spent well. Nobody can repossess that or outbid you for it.
Notice which kind you are carrying when you get into bed this week. If it is mostly the first kind, look at where the hours went and whether any of them were yours. And when it is the good kind, stop for a second and register that the day was worth the fatigue.
When did you last fall asleep tired in a good way?
