Getting a second chance is a loan, not a gift. Make the payments on time.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Somebody deciding to trust you again is not the same as the slate being wiped. They have taken on a risk based on a version of you that does not exist yet, and it runs on the assumption that you will make that version real. Grace is real and it is expensive for the person giving it.

Pay it in the only way it can be paid: turn up, do what you said, and do it on the days nobody is checking. Do not keep apologising, which puts the work back on them. A few months of ordinary reliability says more than any conversation will.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which second chance are you still making payments on?
