Focus is deciding what will remain unseen for a while.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Every choice about what to attend to is also a choice about what to neglect, and the neglected things do not disappear; they simply wait. Pretending focus is only about what you take up avoids the harder half, which is accepting that good and interesting things will go untouched. That acceptance is the actual skill.
When you choose a priority, name explicitly what you are letting go of for now. Write the list of what will not get attention. Making the cost visible is what keeps the focus from quietly dissolving.
