Caps go flying at graduation and everybody films the caps. Look at the faces instead.

Cameras go to the spectacle and the spectacle is rarely the meaningful part. Objects in the air are easy to film and mean nothing on their own. The thing actually happening at that moment is on the faces of the people around you, and that is precisely the footage nobody has, because everyone was aiming upward.
At the next big moment, let somebody else get the wide shot. Look at your friends, your family, whoever is standing next to you. Film that if you film anything. In five years the thrown object will be irrelevant and one specific expression will be the entire memory.
At the next big event, whose face will you watch?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
