A rest day isn’t a day off from growing. Enjoy it without apologizing to yourself.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Growth happens during recovery, not during effort, which means a rest day is part of the work rather than an interruption to it. The guilt that arrives anyway is not a sign of dedication. It is a habit of treating constant motion as proof of seriousness, and it makes the rest less effective at doing what rest is for.

Take the day properly. Not a half version where you feel bad the whole time and end up doing a bit of it anyway. Plan it, enjoy it, and when the guilt shows up, note that it is not information. You will come back better than you left.
