Being grateful for where you are doesn’t mean you’re done climbing. It means you’re not climbing angry.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Appreciation and ambition get treated as opposites, as if being content today meant giving up on tomorrow, which is not how they are connected. What gratitude actually removes is the resentment you carry while you work, the feeling of being owed something by a life running behind schedule. The climbing carries on, just without the grinding underneath it.
Notice whether this week’s effort comes with a running complaint attached to it. Keep the goal and drop the complaint, then see how much lighter the same work gets. Wanting more is fine, but wanting it angrily is what wears people down.
Are you chasing your next goal calmly or resentfully?
