Don’t waste your breath explaining your glow-up to people who only read the rough draft.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some people met you during a rough chapter and quietly decided that was the whole book. Explaining how much has changed rarely works on them, because the explaining itself sounds like the old version asking for approval. They are not necessarily hostile. They just stopped reading a while ago and have no particular reason to start again.

Put the energy into the work rather than the argument. Let the people currently around you see the current version, since they have no old draft to compare it against. Some of the early readers catch up later.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who are you still explaining your progress to unnecessarily?
