Growth sometimes means asking for the thing instead of hinting at it.

Hinting protects you from being told no. Asking directly puts the answer in somebody else’s hands and risks a clear refusal, so people leave clues instead and then feel let down when nobody picks them up. Most of the time the other person genuinely had no idea, because hints are far less obvious from outside your own head.
Ask plainly for one thing this week: the shift, the help, the conversation. One sentence, no wrapping around it. A straight no is information you can use, and the answer may have been yes all along.
What do you want that you have never said plainly?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
