Some tasks become hard only because they are repeatedly restarted.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some tasks are not intrinsically difficult; they are difficult because you keep starting them over. Each restart costs the ramp-up again, and you spend all your time in the expensive opening phase without ever reaching the productive part. The difficulty is manufactured by the interruption pattern.

For a task you keep bouncing off, try giving it one long uninterrupted attempt rather than several short ones. Often the thing you thought was hard turns out to have been merely repeatedly restarted.
