Teaching yourself something off a video at midnight still counts as school.

Learning does not require a building, a grade or anyone’s permission. The hours you spend figuring something out because you wanted to know are usually the ones that stick, since nobody had to make you do them. Self taught work gets dismissed because it has no paperwork attached, but the skill is identical. What you can do is the credential in most of the places that matter.

Keep a record of what you taught yourself and roughly when, because you will forget. Make something with the skill rather than only watching more of it. Show that thing to one person, since having an audience turns a hobby into practice.
