Homesick is proof you had something good. Staying is proof you’re building something new.

Missing a place means it gave you something worth missing, which is a better problem than having nowhere to miss. The ache is not a sign you made the wrong decision, though it argues convincingly in that direction at night. Staying through it is how the new place becomes a place rather than a location. Both feelings can be true in the same week.
Call home on a schedule rather than only when it hurts, so the missing has somewhere to go. Build one small anchor where you are, a routine or a person you see weekly. Give it a season before you judge whether the move was right.
What about home do you miss while you keep building here?
