Do something good with no receipt and no audience. It’s the only kind nobody can question.

Almost every kind thing comes with a small reward attached: a thank you, a reputation, the story you get to tell later. None of that makes it fake. But a good act with none of it attached is the only one where you can be sure of your own reason, because nothing else was on offer.
Do one this week and tell nobody. Pay for the person behind you, clean something you did not mess up, leave the note unsigned. The odd part is how good it feels precisely because no one will ever mention it.
What kind thing could you do without anyone finding out?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
