Forgiveness can reopen your heart without reopening the door.

Forgiveness is something you do about your own interior. It releases you from carrying the grievance, and it says nothing at all about whether the person should be back in your life. Those two decisions get bundled together, usually by people who want the second one, and separating them is what makes forgiveness safe to offer. You can wish someone well from a distance.
Ask yourself the two questions separately: whether you are ready to stop carrying this, and whether the relationship should resume. The answers can differ. Reconciliation requires evidence of change; forgiveness does not.
Whom have you forgiven without needing to let them back in?
