Every team eventually forgets the pep talk. They never forget who covered their shift when things got bad.

LEADERSHIP
Words are cheap to produce and easy to forget, and everyone has heard a good speech that changed nothing. Cost is what registers. Somebody giving up their Saturday, taking the bad slot, staying when they could have left: that is a measurable statement about where you rank for them. It gets remembered because it cannot be faked.
Find one person under pressure this week and take something off them that costs you a little. Do not narrate it. If you cannot take on a whole task, take on the worst twenty minutes of it.
Whose shift would you cover without being asked twice?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
